Microsoft founder Bill Gates is worth over $100 billion for the first time since 1999. On Thursday, April 18, Forbes magazine reported.
According to the publication, this was due to the growth in the value of Microsoft shares. The company’s shares reached a maximum value of $123.52 per share the day before, since the beginning of the week they have risen in price by 2%.
According to the Forbes rating, Gates’ fortune is estimated at $100 billion. The magazine also clarifies that Gates’ fortune briefly exceeded the $100 billion mark in April 1999.
The Microsoft founder remains the second richest person in the world after Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, whose net worth is $152.95 billion.
Forbes on Thursday, April 18, published the annual ranking of the 200 richest businessmen in Russia. In 2019, it was headed by the largest shareholder of Sibur and Novatek, Leonid Mikhelson, whose fortune is estimated at $24 billion.
