Forbes magazine has released a list of the 25 highest paid artists of 2022 who earned their place in the rankings by getting rid of all or part of their studios or music catalogs.

According to the publication, in the first place – the director of “Lord of the Rings” Peter Jackson. He sold part of his visual effects company Weta Digital to Unity Software for $1.6 billion, making him the third person in history to become a billionaire after Steven Spielberg and George Lucas.
Second place goes to American singer Bruce Springsteen. He uploaded all his work to Sony Music Group in December. The sale was valued at nearly $500 million.
Rounding out the top three is Jay-Z, the first hip-hop billionaire, who showed off his business prowess in 2021 when he cashed out stakes in music streamer Tidal and champagne brand Armand de Brignac.
On January 18, Forbes published a list of the world’s most powerful women over 50. It included representatives of various professions from Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
The list was topped by the head of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, the head of the World Trade Organization (WTO) Ngozi Okonjo-Iweal, the head of the European Central Bank (ECB) Christine Lagarde, co-founder and medical director of BioNTech Özlem Tyurechi, Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan.
Also in the list of the most successful women, according to the publication, was the winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature and a member of the presidium of the coordinating council of the Belarusian opposition Svetlana Aleksievich.
