The first place in the ranking of the most influential people in the world according to Forbes magazine was taken by Chinese President Xi Jinping. The compilers of the list explained this by the fact that over the past year the Chinese leader has managed to strengthen his power better than others.

The authors recall that in March he was not only re-elected to the post of leader of the state, but also the restriction on the maximum number of terms that he could serve was removed from the constitution. Thus, Xi Jinping will be able to remain at the head of the country after 2023.

The Chinese leader ousted Russian President Vladimir Putin, who was at the top of the list for four years in a row, to second place. US President Donald Trump also moved from second to third position.

The most powerful woman in the world was German Chancellor Angela Merkel, who took fourth place. The top ten also includes Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, Pope Francis, Microsoft founder Bill Gates, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Google co-founder Larry Page.

At the beginning of the year, Forbes magazine ranked the most overrated actors of 2017. Mark Wahlberg topped the list with only $4.40 back on the dollar.
