Forbes named the largest private companies in Russia

Forbes analysts presented a rating of the largest private Russian companies, the oil company Lukoil again became the leader of the list.

According to the publication, the second place in the rating was taken by X5 Retail Group, which manages Pyaterochka, Perekrestok, Karusel and Perekrestok Express. Surgutneftegaz is in third position.

The retailer “Magnit” took the fourth place, the fifth went to “Tatneft”, notes the “Federal News Agency”. Thus, three energy companies were in the top five. The Megapolis group of companies is in sixth place, the metallurgical Evraz is in seventh, and NLMK, Novatek and Rusal close the top ten.

Magnit was recognized as the largest employer with a staff of 276 thousand employees. X5 Retail Group with 250,000 employees is in second place. Surgutneftegaz, which closed the top three, employs 113.5 thousand employees.

In 2017, Magnit was recognized as the second largest private company, and X5 Retail Group was in third place.

In the spring, Forbes published a ranking of the richest people in the world. Among the Russians, the most wealthy was the main owner of NLMK Vladimir Lisin, who took 57th place in the rating.
