The editors of Forbes Russia magazine presented a ranking of the five richest Russian billionaires in 2019. The list was published on the website of the publication on Thursday, December 26.

Vladimir Potanin, CEO of Norilsk Nickel, took the lead. According to Forbes Russia, in 2019 he increased his fortune by more than a third (almost $8 billion). His total net worth as of December 24 was $23.8 billion.
In second place in the rating is the chairman of the board of Novatek, Leonid Mikhelson. According to the magazine, by the end of 2019, he added $5.9 billion to his capital, while the total fortune of the billionaire is about $27 billion.
The top three of the richest billionaires in Russia is closed by the president of Lukoil, Vagit Alekperov, whose capital gain amounted to $5.3 billion with a total fortune of $23.8 billion.
The top five richest entrepreneurs also included the owner of Novatek and Sibur shares, Gennady Timchenko (an increase over the year amounted to $4.1 billion), as well as Severstal shareholder Alexei Mordashov ($3.8 billion).
On December 20, Forbes named the most successful billionaires on the planet. The leader of the rating was Bernard Arnault – the third richest man on the planet. His net worth added $40 billion in 2019.
