SpaceX founder and Tesla CEO Elon Musk increased his fortune by $13.5 billion in a week. This was announced on Sunday, November 22, according to Forbes.
As of 5:30 a.m., Musk’s net worth in the magazine’s Billionaires Rankings, where he ranks fourth (indicators are updated in real time), was $104.5 billion.
The entrepreneur also climbed to third place in Bloomberg’s global billionaire rankings, which is also updated in real time. The agency estimates his fortune at $121 billion.
Musk’s wealth was boosted by a jump in Tesla shares amid news that the company would enter the S&P index by the end of the year. According to Forbes, the company’s shares rose almost 20% in a week. At the same time, the S&P 500 and Dow Jones fell 0.8% and 0.7%, respectively.
Musk owns a 21% stake in Tesla.
Amazon founder Jeff Bezos ranks first with $181.4 billion, Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy CEO Bernard Arnault is second with $140.5 billion, and Microsoft founder Bill Gates is third with $118.6 billion.
In addition, Musk’s fellow company SpaceX successfully sent four astronauts to the International Space Station (ISS) this week on Tuesday.
