The list of the most influential women in the world according to Forbes magazine has been published. It included the chairman of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation Elvira Nabiullina (49th place) and the editor-in-chief of MIA Rossiya Segodnya and RT Margarita Simonyan (52nd place).
German Chancellor Angela Merkel topped the list. In second place is British Prime Minister Theresa May. In third place was American businesswoman and philanthropist Melinda Gates, wife of Misrosoft Corporation founder Bill Gates.
Hillary Clinton, who lost the 2016 presidential election in the United States, took only 63rd place. At the same time, the daughter of the current US leader Donald Trump, Ivanka, was in 19th position in the rating. They were noticeably ahead of the head of the International Monetary Fund, Christine Lagarde, who took eighth place, and the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs Federica Mogherini (17th place).
The list also includes Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain – 26th, TV presenter Oprah Winfrey (21st place) and singer Beyoncé – 50th.
Earlier, Forbes published a list of the most influential Russians. Topping the list was the world’s first cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin.
