Named the highest paid athletes in the world

Barcelona striker Lionel Messi has been named the highest paid athlete in the world by Forbes magazine.

From June 2018 to June 2019, the footballer earned $127 million.

Second place went to Juventus striker Cristiano Ronaldo ($109 million), who a year ago outstripped the Argentine due to his advertising contracts.

PSG striker Neymar came in third with $105 million.

Boxer Canelo Alvarez was fourth with $94 million and tennis player Roger Federer was fifth with $93.4 million.

The top ten included American football players Russell Wilson and Aaron Rodgers, who earned $89.5 and $89.3 million, respectively, as well as basketball players LeBron James ($89 million), Stephen Curry ($79.8 million) and Kevin Duran ($65.4 million) .

On April 2, the highest paid football players in the world were named. Messi also topped the list.
