Sharapova hit the cover of Forbes on the anniversary of her retirement

The former first racket of the world, the winner of five Grand Slam tournaments, Russian Maria Sharapova got on the cover of Forbes magazine on the anniversary of the end of her sports career.

“The new issue, dedicated to the phenomenon of self-made in Russia and the world, included, like the American self-made rating, tennis player Maria Sharapova, and this is her first interview for Russian media in a long time, where she told how she lives without a big sports and builds a career as a businesswoman,” reads the description of the issue dated February 26. It was on this day in 2020 that the 33-year-old tennis player completed her career.

During her career, the Russian has won five Grand Slam tournaments in singles, as well as 39 WTA tournaments, 36 of which are in singles. She also won the 2004 WTA Finals to her credit.

As part of the Russian national team, she won the 2008 Federation Cup, and also became the silver medalist of the 2012 Olympic Games.

Earlier, Roger Federer’s coach admitted that the tennis player was thinking about ending his career.
