Donald Trump, long before being elected President of the United States, deceived a journalist in order to get into the list of 400 richest people in the world, compiled by the authoritative Forbes magazine. This was reported on Friday by CNN, citing journalist Jonathan Greenberg.

According to Greenberg, the story took place in the 1980s. To compile the list, he wanted to get on the phone with Trump Organization executive John Barron. The journalist believes that Trump himself answered him at the other end of the wire, who overestimated the state of the companies by at least $ 100 million. And in order not to arouse suspicion, he changed the tone of his voice.

Greenberg kept the audio recording of the conversation as proof of his case.

At the moment, Forbes assigns Trump 248th place in the list of 400 richest people on the planet, TASS specifies.

The 45th President of the United States often finds himself in awkward situations. A year ago, Trump forgot to put his signature during the official signing ceremony for an executive order, which was noticed at the last moment by US Vice President Michael Pence.
